A diff before anything changes
Every edit arrives as a word-by-word diff. Walk it change by change, take the lot, or throw it away.
Route one: your own key
The best models, at cost, billed to you. The key lives in the macOS keychain, never in a settings file and never on a server, because there is no server.
Route two: the agent you have
Margin spots Claude Code or Codex CLI on your Mac and routes through it. You already pay for it, so it costs nothing extra and needs no key.
Route three: nothing leaves
Download a model into Margin, or point it at the Ollama models already on your disk. It runs offline, on a plane, with the wifi off.
Results go where you want
Each action decides where its result lands: in the note as a diff, or straight onto the clipboard.
